Are you prepared for the heavy rainfall in the forecast?

🌧️ A wet weekend is on the way. Are you ready?

Significant rainfall is expected across parts of Nova Scotia, and heavy downpours can mean more than just getting soaked.

Rain can lead to:
• Localized flooding and water pooling on roads
• Reduced visibility and difficult driving conditions
• Rapidly rising water in low-lying areas and waterways
• Power outages or other impacts

A few simple steps now can help you stay safe:
☑️ Clear leaves and debris from drains and gutters
☑️ Secure outdoor items
☑️ Check that your sump pump is working
☑️ Avoid parking or storing valuables in areas that could flood
☑️ Don't drive if roads are flooded
☑️ Make sure you can receive emergency alerts

Keep an eye on the forecast and be prepared to adjust your plans if conditions change.
