Set7 Helps Build Childcare Capacity Across North Perth and Region
North Perth, May 29, 2026 – Set7 Skills and Technology North Perth and Region is celebrating the successful completion of its Launch a Home Daycare program. A 6-week training opportunity designed to support community members in starting their own unlicensed childcare business.
Set7 was awarded grant funding from Libro Credit Union’s Community Grant program to provide an introductory “Launch a Home Daycare” program to support high-quality childcare options in the community.
Developed in partnership with the Municipality of North Perth’s Community Services and Childcare Department, the program combined virtual classes and assignments based on a variety of topics, including business plan creation and budgeting, policy and procedure development and best practices related to nutrition, literacy, numeracy and more. Guest speakers and an in-person wrap-up celebration enabled participants to explore local community resources and build relationships.
“The introductory ‘Launch a Home Daycare’ program provides community members with the knowledge, tools, and resources to run a home daycare business, helping them to achieve their goals and have confidence in their future,” said Amy Gangl, Director of Community Services.
“We understand how important childcare is to our families. By supporting community members through this program, we are creating more childcare opportunities which can have a collective impact on the North Perth community.”
Seven participants completed the full program, which has the potential to bring 35 new childcare spaces to the community.
Set7 Skills and Technology was created to provide residents of North Perth and Region with access to world-class training opportunities close to home. Through online and in-person learning opportunities, Set7 supports employees, job seekers, and individuals looking to upgrade their skills and work toward their career goals.
