The official page of 2817 Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps - Lindsay. The Lindsay Cadet Corps dates its origin to 1898 with the formation of the Number 44, Lindsay Collegiate Institute Cadet Corps. The Corps formed 1 Mar 1967 as 45 Field Battery RCA Cadet Corps and sponsored and affiliated with same. Effective 14 Jan 1971 the Corps re designated to Hasting

s and Prince Edward Regiment (Lindsay) Army Cadet Corps. Sponsored by Sir Sam Hughes Branch 67, Royal Canadian Legion.

2817 is proudly the oldest youth organization in the City of Kawartha Lakes. The Cadet Program is the largest federally-sponsored youth program in Canada that includes the Royal Canadian Sea, Army and Air Cadets. It is a national program for young Canadians aged 12 to 19 who are interested in participating in a variety of fun, challenging and rewarding activities while learning about the sea, army and air activities of the Canadian Forces. Cadets are encouraged to become active, responsible members of their communities. They make valuable contributions to Canadian society on a daily basis in terms of environmental, citizenship and community activities. Cadets also learn valuable life and work skills such as teamwork, leadership and citizenship.

Its a wrap on another training year with a great Annual Ceremonial Review. The Cadets did a fantastic job and the staff are so proud. A huge thank you to the support from our Support Committee, the parents, the Army Cadet League, and our local supportes. Congratulations to our award winners. Cadets who completed their first year of training were presented with their beret.

Last official training evening was held at IE Weldon School with a sports evening and BBQ. What a outstanding way to end the year. Now it's practice practice practice for the upcomming Army Cadet Review on 6 June. A huge shout out to all the staff who made all the moving parts of the evening come together. Well Done!!!
