When big, scary things like the recent flooding happen, our nervous systems can feel "stuck" in survival mode. It’s normal for children, youth, and adults to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or just not like themselves.
You don’t have to navigate this alone. 💙
ATTCH Niagara is facilitating a Family Sharing Circles Support Group at Calvary Church in Beamsville. This group is designed to provide a gentle, trauma-informed space for children, youth, and their caregivers to learn how to help their brains and bodies feel safe again.
What to expect:
We will use expressive arts, faith-based connection, and simple, sensory-based tools to:
✅ Understand the "Window of Tolerance" and why our bodies react the way they do.
✅ Learn simple strategies to discharge "big energy" or wake up a "shut-down" nervous system.
✅ Practice trauma integration techniques to help process the experience without having to retell the painful details.
Join us for a morning of connection and regulation:
🗓 When: Saturday, September 12th OR Saturday, September 19th
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
📍 Where: Calvary Church, Beamsville
This is a low-pressure, supportive environment. You are in control of your participation—you can draw, write, or simply listen. We will provide sensory tools and resources to help you and your family find your calm.
We look forward to seeing you there.
