Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge

Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge We are a provincially registered non-profit society, and nationally registered charitable organization.

In addition to providing emergency food services, we have the responsibility of providing a safe, clean environment in which we conduct our business. We cater to those in a variety of situations, ranging from single-parenthood, to seniors on fixed incomes, to the under or unemployed, or to those with other social or economic barriers. We have been providing emergency food services to citizens of Lethbridge and area since 1989. Since then, we have grown exponentially as the community recognizes, assesses and attempts to satisfy the needs of those in crisis. We act as a bridge between a community of donors and those who are in need through:

- Distribution of monthly food hampers, daily food supplements, and clothing vouchers

- Referrals to other community and/or government agencies to connect individuals and families with resources available within our community

- Offering The Interfaith Chinook Country Kitchen – through partnerships with Chinook Health and Family Centre, we facilitate cooking classes that teach healthy eating on limited budgets.

Thank you to Food Banks Canada for supporting our work through their Access Grant Program!

We received $16,000 to help close gaps in access across our community, going toward more halal, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan food options, plus a part-time staffing role focused on building partnerships with other community services.

Join us for an afternoon of traditional plant knowledge and hands-on herbal crafting. Stephanie Calf Robe will lead a presentation on traditional healing medicine, sharing the plants she works with and how they're used, followed by a mint tea making session.

From there, you'll spend two hours crafting your own salve using plants and herbs harvested straight from our Learning Garden.

Our 18th Annual Friends of Interfaith Food Bank Charity Dinner & Silent Auction is coming up, and Early Bird tickets are $125 only until August 23rd. After that, prices go up to $150.

Join us for an evening of live and silent auctions, great food, live music, and community, all in support of neighbours facing food insecurity right here in Lethbridge. Last year we raised close to $80,000 together, helping nearly 3,000 people a month access emergency food and support programs.
