Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley Big Brothers Big Sisters Langley has been providing volunteer based mentoring programs for Langley's children & youth since 1974.

We’re Big Brothers Big Sisters. We believe every child should have the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, both as individuals and citizens – that by doing so, they will not only do well, they will also do good. We believe that by changing the course of young lives we can in turn be changing the course of a community’s future. That it could lead to a reduction in poverty and unemployment. Or to safer schools and neighbourhoods. Or to a renewed optimism for growth. That it could even lead to change on a broader, more far-reaching scale. We believe that opening a child’s eyes to what is – opens their mind to what could be. For over 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been making a positive difference in the lives of our nation’s youth by developing and implementing a wide range of mentoring programs. One-to-one and group programs, for both in school and outside of school. Serving as role models, our mentors teach by example the importance of giving and giving back, of staying in school, and of having respect for family, peers and community. Each time we pair a child with a mentor or introduce a group of students to an in-school program, we start something incredible – a life-changing relationship built on friendship, trust and empowerment. Witnessing the transformation of a child into a confident, concerned and motivated young person is a remarkable thing. Ushering them into adulthood, seeing them grow into a successful, responsible member of their community and society at large is even more satisfying. Proudly, it’s something our staff, volunteers and donors help bring about every day, and we’re very grateful for their generosity and support. Whether it’s in the form of time or money there is no more important investment we as individuals can make than in helping our nation’s children realize – and share – their full potential. We’re Big Brothers Big Sisters, and we believe in the value and values of mentoring.

💫Match Monday!
Sandi and Adrien were matched in October 2024, and they clicked right from the start! Their connection grew stronger throughout the match through their shared love of anime, animals, and gaming. Together, they’ve explored all sorts of Lower Mainland highlights, including Science World, cat cafes, Metrotown, various parks, hot pot, Vancouver Fan Expo, PNE Fright Nights, and the Cherry Blossom Festival, as well as crafting and gaming together.

Both Sandi and Adrien said that their relationship allowed them to learn and grow together and help each other be the best they can be. Their experience is a wonderful reminder of the power of mentoring: when two people have the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and support one another, the impact can extend far beyond the activities they do together. Through their time as a match, Sandi and Adrien built a meaningful friendship, and created memories that will stay with them long after the formal match ends.

New life seasons for both of them this fall mean that we at the agency are saying goodbye. But while the match is closing, we know Adrien and Sandi will stay connected through shared memes, chats, and visits whenever their schedules align!

This month, we’re celebrating the power of mentoring and the incredible people who help young people discover what they’re capable of.

At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley, we believe every young person has incredible potential. Sometimes, all it takes is the right person beside them to help ignite it.
Mentoring is about creating meaningful connections, building confidence, and giving young people someone in their corner who believes in them.

Think the fun ends when the tasting tent closes? Think again! 🎶
We’re excited to have The Rundown taking over The Koop for the Late Night portion of The Big Social!

Once the tasting tent wraps up outside, we’re heading inside to turn the music up and keep the party going with live music, dancing, a cash bar, games and plenty of reasons to stick around.

Our 2nd Annual Summer BBQ was one for the books! ☀

This special event was created to bring our matches, families, community partners, and supporters together for an afternoon of fun, connection, and community. It was so wonderful to see everyone come together, share some laughs, enjoy some food, and make memories!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon extra special, including our volunteers, the Langley City On Call Firefighters, Vancouver Football Club, Langley Rams and Langley Rivermen. Your support and enthusiasm helped make the day one our matches and families won’t forget!
