Through the integration of faith, life, and sport we believe each person can experience a victory beyond competition. Athletes in Action Canada is a not-for-profit Christian sports ministry dedicated to developing the total athlete. Through the integration of faith, life, and sport, we aim to see athletes engage with the Christian faith in Canada and around the world. Sport has the power to unite cultures, transcend values, and defy conventions.

The word of God is perfect. It gives us all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).

While it does not give us all knowledge, all the knowledge it gives is true and perfect. God’s word is never wrong in science or history. How refreshing that!

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in this verse did not doubt God’s ability, but neither did they presume to know God’s will. They recognized that God’s plan might look different from their own desires.

Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, faith says: God is able. But even if He doesn’t do what I hope He will, He is still good, He is still God, and He is still worthy of my trust.

Across Canada, Athletes in Action is showing up on university campuses - bringing together sport, life and faith in a way that helps athletes grow not just as players, but as people and children of God. Please be praying as our campus ministries kick off soon and student athletes return to school and sport!

At one of our campus Bible studies last year, an athlete came because a teammate invited them and they hear the gospel for the first time, understanding that as Ephesians 2:8-9 says ““For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — not from works, so that no one can boast.” They understood for the first time that they don’t have to be perfect to go to heaven or start a relationship with God but humbly come to him knowing our fallen nature, “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬)

These are the moments that remind us what true victory looks like, on the field and beyond, and how God is moving within AIA!

As student-athletes across the country head back to school, here’s an encouragement and reminder to give God the praise He deserves, proclaim His name, and make Him known.

A heart of thanksgiving can change your perspective. As you enter a season of uncertainty, unfamiliarity, or change, remember what the Lord has done for you and remind yourself that He is a good Father.

Please keep our student-athletes across Canada in your prayers as they begin a new school year and step into a new season of competition. Pray that they would keep Christ at the centre, remain rooted in Him, and boldly live out their faith on their campuses and teams.
