"Protecting Langham and the Community Since 1908" The LFD consists of 13 volunteer members from the community.

The Langham Fire Department (LFD) operates out of the Town of Langham from their station located along Railway Avenue. Our members are Level II firefighters, EMT’s and First Responders, many of which are cross-trained. Two of our members are also members of Saskatoon District Search and Evidence Recovery Team that works under the RCMP. A few of our members are also part of the North Corman Park US

AR (Urban Search and Rescue) team and the SAR (Rural Search and Rescue) team. We also have a member on the mine rescue team at Cory. As a Fire Department we respond to fires, motor vehicle accidents, medical and wild land fire emergency calls. LFD is dispatched under the provincial 911 system by M.D. Ambulance in Saskatoon. We serve a community of 1500 and surrounding area of two hundred and thirty square miles, as well as participate in mutual aid agreement with five other fire departments within Rural Municipality of Corman Park. The Langham Fire Department is equipped with six emergency service vehicles.A Town Fire Engine, R.M. Fire Engine, 2 Wild Land Firefighting Trucks, a Rescue Unit and a Medical Response SUV. We are one of the only fire departments between Langham and North Battleford that is equipped with the Jaws of Life and will respond as far west as Maymont to attend motor vehicle accidents. Our training is ongoing for the Langham Fire Department whether it is Fire, Rescue, or Medical. Tuesday evening is training night for the department with the first Monday of the month being our monthly meeting night.

On this day lets take a few minutes to remember the people who have fought for the freedom that we have in this country and died in doing so.

Remember those who returned, that still held, or hold the scars of war, for you to have the rights and freedoms we have.

Unless you grew up around those people, had friends, parents , uncles, cousins, or children that were involved, or have travelled to those countries where the wars have been fought it is hard to understand.

Think of those Canadian Military personnel that are abroad today training others, or are on patrol around the world protecting others.

At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them

There are a few interesting people or we think maybe people about tonight

Training is an ongoing and vital to the fire department members to maintain and learn new skills.

Last week was the use of air lifting bags to free someone trapped under a piece of equipment or in this case a child on a bike under a vehicle.

Good command and control is required to lift safely and expediently.
