🥹 Lakeshore, you did it again! 💙
Today was the 2nd Annual Lakeshore Helping Lakeshore Fall Food & School Supply Drive, and honestly… we are still trying to wrap our heads around what happened.
We asked our community to show up for local families who could use a little extra help, and Lakeshore showed up in DROVES.
We truly believe this was our biggest and most successful food drive yet, and we could not be more proud of this community. ❤️
You didn’t just fill the bed of a pickup truck with much needed food for the Community Support Centre of Essex County 's Food Bank… you filled the back seat too. 🥹
And then came the cash donations. A truly incredible $982.55 was donated!!!!! With every single dollar of which is going right back into buying even more food and school supplies for local kids and families.
We were blown away by the generosity. The food. The snacks. The school supplies. The notebooks. The lunch items. The cash. And most of all, the people who stopped to donate, share a smile, tell a friend, or simply say, “How can I help?”
A huge thank you to Mike for lending us his pickup truck and helping us haul this mountain of generosity!
Thank you to our wonderful student volunteers who gave their time today and helped make everything run smoothly. You guys were amazing, and we are so grateful to have you as part of this.
Thank you to Rymerson’s Your Independent Grocer for allowing us to be there today and helping us make this drive possible.
And a very special thank you to Paula for opening up the Food Bank today so we could get everything safely dropped off and into the hands of the people who need it. ❤️
This is what community looks like.
It’s neighbours helping neighbours. It’s making sure a child has the supplies they need for school. It’s putting food on a local family’s table. It’s looking around at the place we call home and deciding that we take care of our own. 🫂
