The fire ban in our Coastal Fire Region is being lifted but your want you to continue to be safe and careful. The possibility of wildfires still exists, and we want you all to be safe and have a great summer/fall!
Effective at 12:00 pm on September 3, the Coastal Fire Centre will lift the campfire ban in . 🔥
This means campfires no larger than 0.5 metres high and 0.5 metres wide are now permitted within our community. You must always keep at least 8 litres of water or a firefighting tool nearby. 💧
⚠️ Year-Round Outdoor Restrictions ⚠️
Ladysmith has several outdoor fire restrictions in place year-round to help protect public safety and maintain the Town’s air quality.
In Ladysmith, you cannot:
❌ Start or maintain an outdoor fire unless it's expressly permitted by bylaw
❌ Burn toxic, explosive, corrosive or noxious materials, including herbicides or pesticides
❌ Burn materials brought in from other locations
❌Light an outdoor fire (larger than a campfire 0.5 metres high by 0.5 metres in diameter) without a required permit
❌ Start a fire without proper supervision or fire-extinguishing equipment
🎆 Thinking of using fireworks? You are required to obtain a permit in Ladysmith before using them.
