๐ถ Lead and support corporate communications and public engagement initiatives.
๐ถ Research, develop and implement communications and engagement strategies.
๐ถ Write news releases, speaking notes, briefing notes, advertisements and other communications materials.
๐ถ Manage and create content for the Townโs social media channels and campaigns.
๐ถ Respond to media inquiries and support proactive media relations.
๐ถ Help produce major Town publications, including the Annual Report, newsletters and brochures.
๐ถ Support Town departments with communications and public engagement plans.
๐ถ Help develop corporate communications, branding and social media policies and standards.
๐ถ Identify emerging communications issues and opportunities and recommend appropriate strategies.
๐ถ Work closely with elected officials and senior staff on sensitive and confidential matters.
๐ถ Support internal communications and help ensure the Town communicates clearly and consistently.
๐ถ Work closely with the Corporate Services team, so teamwork, collaboration and leaving the ego at the door are essential.

๐ท A two-year diploma in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
๐ท At least two years of recent experience in corporate communications, media relations, public engagement, social media and policy development. Local or other government experience is an asset.
๐ท Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
๐ท Experience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems and online engagement tools.
๐ท A proven ability to communicate effectively across a variety of platforms and audiences.
๐ท Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
๐ท The ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines and adapt when things change quickly.
๐ท An understanding of political and organizational environments.
๐ท The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
๐ท A self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently.
๐ท Availability to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings.

๐ฐ $94,508-$100,167 annually, with starting salary based on qualifications and experience.
