Sunday, September 13th, 2026:

TJ Paving is in Lacombe today to repave the intersection of 50th Street and 51st Avenue. This work requires a full-day closure of the intersection. A detour route is in place as pictured.

Public skating is back at the Gary Moe Auto Group Sportsplex starting Sunday, Sept 13th! We also have available ice rental times, if your group or team needs extra ice.

It's $5 per skater for all daytime skates. Kids are free on Mondays for Parent & Tot skate and PD Skates are $3.00.

Residents and business owners are advised that TJ Paving will be in Lacombe this Sunday, September 13th, to repave the intersection of 50th Street and 51st Avenue. With the long term forecast showing low nightly temperatures near the freezing mark, we need to winterize the Spray Park in Lacombe so Wednesday, September 9 is our last open day of the season.

We hope you had the chance to enjoy some warmer days at the newly renovated Spray Park outside the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre, even if it was just for a short time, and we look forward to a full season next summer!

Thank you to everyone who submitted a name suggestion for our new ice resurfacer. We were blown away by the response, receiving 374 creative name submissions from residents across the City of Lacombe and Lacombe County!

After reviewing all eligible entries, the finalists have been selected and now the community has the opportunity to help choose a favourite.

Community voting is open until September 21.
