🌍 Earth Day 🌱

On this Earth Day, let’s take a moment to highlight the importance of protecting the nature that surrounds us.

At the Fort No.1, heritage and the natural environment go hand in hand. Green spaces and the landscapes are an integral part of the visitor experience and remind us of the close connection between history and nature.

Across the country, Parks Canada works every day to protect and showcase Canada’s natural and historic places, so they can be enjoyed today and by future generations.

Together, let’s take care of the places that bring us together. 💚

In one of the casemates of Fort No.1 lies the officers’ mess, a reminder of a military camp that once included barracks, stables, workshops, and even a hospital ✨🎖️.
This place evokes the lives of those who oversaw the fort’s construction, balancing duty, authority, and comfort.
Planning a special event? You can rent this unique location to create an unforgettable setting.

Did you know that the cannon installed at Fort No.1 is not a reproduction, but an authentic Armstrong cannon? 🔎⚙️

Its range was 3 to 5 km, with particularly remarkable accuracy at 3 km. The cannon we have here has never been modified, making it an exceptionally rare piece. Only six identical examples remain in the world.

👉 Don't miss the opportunity to discover this unique cannon during our guided tours this summer! 🌞
