Hey Kuujjuaq!

Do you wonder how we clean water tanks?
Here are the ins and outs of our process to ensure optimal water quality levels.

The contractors work in 3 steps:
1️⃣They empty the tank
2️⃣They clean the tank
3️⃣They rinse the tank, empty it and call for a water truck to refill it

⏱️This 3-step process means that cleaning a tank can take up to 3 hours until the water is back and that different teams can work on the same tank.

👉After cleanings, NHB does surprise inspections on the tanks to make sure they're always cleaned properly and thoroughly by the contractors. 📝

How are the tanks cleaned? 🧼

🫧Tanks are cleaned with high pressure washers and a non-toxic solution.
All the tools used to clean the inside of the tanks are disinfected beforehand and between every step.
Every part of the water tank is cleaned thoroughly, the surfaces as well as the floaters and their wires.

After a cleaning, the workers do a swipe test, by rubbing a paper towel against the inside walls of the tank. If the paper towel comes out clean, the worker then cleans the drain. If it does not come out clean, the worker cleans the entire tank again. 🔄

Why are the tanks getting cleaned? 💧

Over time, with normal use, residue and dirt can accumulate in the water tanks. So regular cleanings are important to make sure water quality remains optimal.
NHB cleans its buldings’ water tanks every 2 years. 📅

You are allowed to refuse cleanings, but we strongly encourage you let us clean the tank to ensure it’s cleaned properly and regularly. You are allowed to clean your tank yourself, but NHB cannot provide you with tools to do so.

Same hours, same services, same team, all at house 686.

The Main Office will be under construction for the next few months, so house 686 will be our point of service for all things related to your rent and applications.

Hey Kuujjuaq!

Our main office will be undergoing renovations for the next few months. In the meantime, our Client Services team will be relocating to house #686 starting Monday August 31st.

All services provided at the main office will be available for you there – rent payment, rebates, leases, housing applications, etc.

Same hours, same services, same team, all at house #686.

To prepare for the move, the rent room will be closed tomorrow, Friday August 28th.

We’ll keep you updated when our team is ready to move back to the main office.
