With heavy rainfall in the past days, our sewer system was overwhelmed at about midnight last night. Our pumps could not keep up with the flow into the sewer system with surface water and sump pumps that drain into the system. We did have Public Works attending on site all night with 3 vacuum trucks dispatched to assist our pumping system to control water flows out of our lift stations. As of 6:00 AM this morning we have our system normalized and we are now operating at normal wastewater levels in the Village.

Some residents that do not have a backwater check valve may experienced back up into their homes due to the situation we had occur last night. We do apologize for the inconvenience if you have experienced a back up, as this was a extreme situation with rainfall and will be looking at mitigating measures for future extreme weather conditions.

KITSCOTY DAYS!! Annual Kitscoty festivities will be happening around town!! will have main street blocked with a kids market, games, and much more

our Patio will be open with ice cream and bistro food and drinks at 11am

we will have our Beer tub set up and daily lunch specials for a quick bite all day long!!! we are open till 8pm with deals inside as well all day!

In support of Kitscoty Days on Saturday May 30, 2026, Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking for the day to allow activities from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The Village of Kitscoty will commence street sweeping tomorrow Friday May 22, 2026. Please ensure all vehicles are moved from street parking until your street has been attended. Reminder also to remove garbage bins from todays pickup.
