In the coming weeks, the County of Vermilion River will be conducting a survey of the naturally occurring drainage ditch within the Residential Subdivision of Deerfoot Estates.

Remote (drone) surveying is anticipated to take place on June 5, 2026. Residents in the area may see an Alberta Land Surveyor vehicle and/or surveyors in the area and a drone overhead.

On-site ground surveying is anticipated to occur the week of June 15-19, 2026 and will include Alberta Land Surveyors on site. The work is focused strictly on the drainage area shown in the map.

Dates are subject to change due to weather or other external factors that may impact surveying conditions.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Planning & Development Department at [email protected] or (780) 846-2244.

Alberta’s W**d Control Regulation list of weeds has been updated for the first time
since 2010!
These updates help focus provincial resources where they can have the greatest impact—on invasive plants that are still possible to contain or eradicate. Check out the updates:
• 2 species deregulated (creeping bellflower and perennial sowthistle)
• 5 species added as noxious (all hawkweed species in the genus Pilosella)
• 17 species added as prohibited noxious
• 12 species reclassified from prohibited noxious to noxious (3 hawkweed and 9
knapweed species)
• 95 species total are now provincially regulated
Landowners are required to control noxious weeds and destroy prohibited noxious weeds
