PROTECTIVE SERVICES - Community Engagement: May 2026
With Spring finally in the air, our first responders have been busy in and about their communities.
Blackfoot Fire and Rescue were part of the annual "Community Clean Up" Day, providing food and station tours to the neighborhood.
Dewberry Fire & Rescue prepped yesterday for their upcoming "Chuckwagon Days" slated for the weekend of June 13th with some community clean-up.
The County of Vermilion River also attended the 186 Air Cadets Squadron Annual Cadet Review held last Tuesday, a program designed for Youth between 12 and 18 with a strong focus on leadership skills and volunteerism.
Paradise Valley Fire Department was also busy, hosting kindergarten tours and helping with a charity golf tournament.
Yesterday, Staff attended "Kitscoty Days", judging bike contests with the Kitscoty Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta before taking in the festivities at the Kitscoty Legion Branch 158, the Kids Market, the baseball tournament next to the Kitscoty Fire Department and other events.
As we head into June with some rain, we give a shout out to all volunteers that keep our communities exciting places to live and play.
