PUBLIC SAFETY - Community Engagement: Lea Park Rodeo

The long awaited rodeo makes its return this weekend north of Marwayne. Festivities kick off Friday night and continue until Sunday afternoon.

Expect to see an increased presence from the law enforcement throughout the weekend, including Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Alberta, Alberta Sheriffs and our Public Safety/Peace Officers.

As you approach the Jubilee Park be aware that the speed limit has been reduced from 100 km/hr to 80 km/hr and down to 50 km/hr near the entrance of the park. The speed limit change will exist for the duration of the rodeo. Signs and electronic signals are posted along the route to remind drivers to slow down and to be aware of the increased traffic in and out of the rodeo grounds.

There is no fire ban - so campfires are permitted. However, there is a Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm in effect for our region tonight.

Enjoy!
