The Girls in Swim program has been impactful in more ways than one. In this testimonial, hear how the program supported girls who wear hijab to feel comfortable, confident, and included in a sport they once thought might not be accessible to them.

Creating safe, modest, and culturally informed spaces matters - and their stories show exactly why. 💙✨

Our Mindful Gardening program creates a welcoming, culturally meaningful space where newcomers, refugees, seniors, women, and families can connect through land‑based learning.

Through shared gardening activities, participants reduce stress, build relationships, and find grounding, memory, and a sense of home. This program supports emotional well‑being, belonging, and food security - all while nurturing community connection.

We’re grateful to grow alongside our community, one seed at a time. 🌿✨

Our Bloom Through Art program helps children express emotions, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills through creative activities like drawing, painting, and colouring.

By offering a safe and supportive space, Bloom Through Art encourages emotional growth, self‑awareness, and positive communication - helping children feel understood, empowered, and connected.

We’re proud to continue nurturing resilience and creativity in our community’s youngest learners. 🌱✨

In today’s feature, hear a powerful first‑hand story from a parent about how Making Waves: Girls in Swim has supported her daughter and why programs like this matter in our community. From building confidence to creating a safe, modest, and comfortable space for girls to learn, her story reflects the importance of accessible, culturally informed programming.

We’re grateful to all the families who trust us and continue to uplift this work. 💙

Today is Su***de Prevention Day, and at MSSWR we are honouring this moment by changing the narrative - shifting the conversation toward compassion, cultural understanding, and community care.

This month, and every month, we want our community to know: you are not alone. Your experiences, your story, and your needs matter. We are committed to creating spaces where support is culturally informed, faith‑inclusive, and grounded in dignity and belonging.

Thank you to our community for standing with us as we continue this work. Together, we can change the narrative toward hope, connection, and healing.
