We’re growing Kitchener’s tree canopy: and tracking our progress!
Right now, trees cover 27% of our city. Our goal?
✅ 30% coverage in every ward by 2050
✅ 33% citywide by 2070
🌱 Fill out our survey and help shape future tree policies: EngageWR.ca/PrivateTrees

Let’s grow together. 🌱

Let responsible kids walk.

Many Kitchener neighbourhoods are connected with safe routes to school, making it the safest option for many. If your kids are old enough to get to school on their own, avoid the busy drop-off zone and encourage them to walk.

Due to hot and dry conditions, the Townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich are suspending open air burning, effective immediately.

The ban prohibits all fires except those set for the sole purpose of cooking food in a contained fire pit. Cooking fires should be attended constantly and extinguished completely after use.
