Community doesn’t stop at city limits. 🙌

Today I had the privilege of attending the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation’s Teeing Off for a Miracle Golf Tournament — and left more inspired than ever about what’s possible when leaders come together for a cause.

It was an honour to connect with Premier Doug Ford, MP Kristina Tesser Decker, and MPP Zee Hamid — and to have real conversations about community investment, partnership, and what it looks like to bring that same energy to Kitchener-Waterloo.

One vision I’m passionate about for Ward 5: bringing large-scale, community-building events like this to our neighbourhoods — events that celebrate our diversity, activate our public spaces, and uplift families who need it most.

And to the living legend himself — Tiger Jeet Singh — thank you for modeling what genuine, sustained community leadership looks like. Decades of showing up. That’s the standard. 🙏

Ward 5, let’s RISE forward. 🟡

I’ve spent my career in the clinic, on the floor, showing up for people when it mattered. Listening first. Then acting.

Now I’m asking for your vote to bring that same care to City Council.

My platform is simple: R.I.S.E.

🔹 Recreational Programming — more access, more spaces, for every age

🔹 Inclusion — a Ward 5 where every newcomer and neighbour belongs

🔹 Safety — safer roads, safer streets, safer community

🔹 Environmental impact — development that builds with our neighbourhoods, not over them

This is more than a campaign. It’s a commitment to the city I chose to raise my family in.

My name is Nitin Nair and I am running for City Councillor in Ward 5, Kitchener’s 2026 municipal election. I believe ward 5 deserves a stronger,more inclusive representation without losing the fabric that holds this amazing community together.

Kitchener is the city I chose to call home. This is where I am building my career, raising my family, and where I have seen firsthand how much this community has to offer.

Every day in my clinical work, I see how the problems people carry into a clinic are rooted outside of it — in roads that aren’t safe, in recreation that’s out of reach, in a city that wasn’t designed with everyone in mind. I’m running because Ward 5 deserves a councillor who does more than manage but someone who prevents, connects, and advocates.

Ward 5 deserves a fresh voice and the people deserve a seat at the table.

I’m ready. Let’s go 💛
