Curious what’s happening in local research?

Local PhD students are taking the stage for short, TED Talk-style presentations on ideas from a range of disciplines, hosted by the New Adult Advisory Board (NAAB). Stick around afterward for an idea mixer with light refreshments and good conversation.

Come for one talk or stay for all of them. Drop-in, no registration required.

Literacy Tip: Lead by Example!

Children learn by watching the adults around them.

When they see you enjoying books and making reading part of your everyday routine, they begin to understand that reading is fun and important!

On your next library visit, choose books for yourself as well as your children.

Keep books visible and within easy reach at home, and let your little ones catch you reading. Share what you’re reading, talk about your favourite stories, or simply say, “I really enjoyed that book!” These small, everyday moments help nurture a lifelong love of reading and show children that books are for everyone.
