Our conference has begun in beautiful Thunder Bay! Today we’re welcoming food banks and are off to a fantastic start thanks to our generous meal sponsors, who will be providing food throughout the conference so our network can make the most of their experience connecting, learning, and finding innovative ways to expand their capacities. Thank you to Egg Farmers of Ontario (Get Cracking), Food Banks Canada, Metro Ontario, Sudbury Food Bank, and The Crump Group for your support and for making this year's conference possible!

We’re strengthening food banks, supporting communities, and working to end hunger.
As the province’s largest collective of food banks, we make sure food banks across Ontario can meet the needs of their communities by providing consistent, large-scale deliveries of healthy food and by building their capacity through grant funding and training. Our work is to ensure people facing hunger have access to the food they need today, while also advocating for change on a provincial level to end poverty in the future.

Barrie Food Bank is a member of Feed Ontario, the province's largest collective of food banks and hunger-relief organizations working together to end hunger in Ontario.
As more and more people need to turn to food banks to get by, Feed Ontario is helping us meet the rising need in our community.
Last year, Feed Ontario distributed millions of pounds of food to local organizations like ours that helped more than 1 million Ontarians. Learn more about Feed Ontario and how we’re working together to support our neighbours facing hunger here: https://ow.ly/1Xw850YJ1IY

We’re proud to support Right To Food Canada and their call for action on food insecurity in Canada.

Right To Food’s 2026 pre-budget submission outlines practical, evidence-based solutions, shaped by input from more than 150 community organizations and Indigenous partners. And with almost 10 million Canadians struggling to afford food, the actionable steps listed in this submission can make a real difference - one that's essential to our future.

Right To Food’s pre-budget submission outlines 4 actions the federal government can take now:

1️⃣ Set national target for food security
2️⃣ Strengthen income supports
3️⃣ Expand disability benefits
4️⃣ Fund Indigenous food sovereignty
