Lemoine Point Conservation Area

A Conservation Area owned and operated by the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority Open dawn to dusk daily.

Bordered by Lake Ontario and Collins Bay, Lemoine Point is 136 hectares of forest, field and marsh, with a spectacular waterfront. Many opportunities for recreation and nature appreciation are available in all seasons. Lemoine Point offers the community beautiful views, wildlife, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fishing, cycling, picnicking, and bird-watching.

Friends of Lemoine Point Seeking New Treasurer

If you have experience or know someone who might be interested in managing the books of our small volunteer organization, please get in touch. We hope to start transitioning the role of Treasurer before September with the new individual taking on full responsibilities starting next fiscal year (October 1, 2026).

The Treasurer is an official Officer of our Board of Governors and attends monthly meetings to share a report on finances.

The Friends of Lemoine Point are holding a wildflower sale at the Nursery Today Saturday, June 20 from 9-12 noon.

Due to the very odd spring this year, we have a modest amount of wildflower stock available, but our tree and shrub collection is also available for purchase (cash, credit or debit).

Wildflowers available include (but are not limited to): Giant Yellow Hyssop, Blue Verbena, White Verbena, Virgin's Bower, Great Blue Lobelia, Swamp Milkweed, Canada Wild Rye grass, Bottlebrush Grass, Fringed Sedge, and Ostrich ferns. We do not have trilliums, jack in the pulpit, hepatica or ephemerals.

The Friends of Lemoine Point are holding a wildflower sale at the Nursery on Saturday, June 20 from 9-12 noon.

Dogs are always welcome at any of Cataraqui Conservation’s properties, including the Cataraqui Trail.

But we ask that your four-legged canine family member be on a leash and remain on the marked trails during their visit.

This is for the safety and consideration for other visitors and the wildlife that lives in the area near trails on the properties. Free-running dogs can be intimidating to other visitors and can also chase and disturb wildlife.

And please pick up after your pooch. There are a number of refuse containers located throughout the property.

Do you love nature and want a rewarding volunteer opportunity, one that helps various programs and services offered by Cataraqui Conservation and it’s close partners?

We are looking for volunteers to work in the following program areas:

Weekend public programs at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area: We are looking for individuals who are confident and comfortable relaying information or interacting with the public, comfortable walking on the trails at night and have a knowledge and passion for nature or are willing to learn.

Conservation Area Friends Groups: Friends of Lemoine Point, Friends of Mac Johnson Wildlife Area or Friends of the Cataraqui Trail.

Cataraqui Conservation Foundation

Tree Planting: The Friends of Lemoine Point host annual tree planting events and are looking for volunteers to help plant trees at the conservation areas. Watch our event listings for scheduled planting events.

Prices: $15 for trees and shrubs, $5 for wildflowers and $15 for two Paw Paws.

All proceeds from the sale go back into the nursery and the conservation area. Cash, credit and debit will be accepted.

The Victoria Day long weekend is the traditional start of summer activities for most of us living in the Great White North. It’s the perfect time to spend getting your gardens and landscaping in good order.

Thank you to the Friends of Lemoine Point and Cataraqui Conservation staff who braved the rain last Wednesday morning to help pot just under 1,000 trees at the Native Plant Nursery. Hope to see you at the tree, shrub and wildflower sale this Saturday.

The Friends of Lemoine Point Spring Plant Sale is Back!

Green thumbs throughout the region have been chomping at the bit, ever since the snow melted, as they look to jump start their landscaping and gardening efforts are encouraged to pop out to the Native Plant Nursery at Lemoine Point Conservation Area on Saturday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon to pour over the selection of native tress, shrubs and wildflowers available for purchase (menu of available species coming soon).

Prices: $15 for trees and shrubs, $5 for wildflowers and $15 for two Paw Paws.

All proceeds from the sale go back into the nursery and the conservation area. Cash, credit and debit will be accepted. The tree nursery will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
