About Us
The men and women of the PWOR has been part of Kingston’s history since the late 1800s, serving the Canadian Armed Forces with distinction domestically and internationally, from the early beginnings of Canada as a nation to present-day.
As a Reserve unit of the Canadian Army, our members are Reservists, who have chosen to serve Canada on a part-time basis while they retain their civilian lives as students, employees in civilian companies, and as members of the Kingston community.
We are always looking to hire our future soldiers, so that they many train and be ready to fulfill our mandate to answer Canada’s call to assist. This could be a domestic deployment, to combat severe flooding, ensure the safety of Canadians in the midst of the worst winter storms, and to contribute to public safety and security operations in cooperation with civilian authorities such as the local emergency services and the municipal, provincial and federal government agencies.
Internationally, the Canadian Armed Forces and members of the PWOR support operations across the globe to bring peace and stability to many parts of the world afflicted by natural disasters and conflict.
