A Spanish class making way for a Latin Ballroom Dance class, a group of friends going for lunch in our dining room, Hatter’s Cove, a son dropping off his father for a clinic, or a volunteer rushing from her job at the Greeter’s Desk to the gym for her table tennis class. Wherever you look, our Centre is a hub of activity. Each day, more than 350 people pass through our doors and down the halls to
participate in the 234+ classes, activities, clinics, seminars, events, and dining. And don’t let the word “senior” fool you. We don’t “discriminate against youth”! Our members range from 35 to 105, although we do plan our programs to be of interest to people 50 and over. As we say at The Centre, “Join us for the time of your life!”
The Seniors Association Kingston Region is a not-for-profit, voluntary, and charitable organization. The Association evolved in 1997 through the amalgamation of two longstanding organizations, the Kingston and Area Senior Citizens’ Council and the Kingston Seniors Day Centre. With the amalgamation and a membership of about 4000, the Association consolidated its role as the central coordinating body for activities, providing services and representing the interests of seniors throughout the greater Kingston area. We currently have over 5000 members to whom we distribute Vista, our monthly 48 page publication. We are located at 56 Francis St. Kingston, Ontario K7M 1L7.
