This year’s theme, Ontario Seniors—Let’s Get Moving, highlights the importance of supporting our older adults through programs and initiatives that promote wellness, social engagement and education.

🚧 Road improvements are coming to Weston Road between 16th Sideroad and Lloydtown-Aurora Road this summer.

Work includes resurfacing the road and replacing culverts to improve drainage and long-term road quality. Construction is scheduled from June to August 2026.

🚦 The road will remain open to through traffic, with temporary lane closures Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Two temporary Saturday road closures will be required to complete culvert replacements—details will be shared once confirmed. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained.

Join us for a hands-on tour of the apiary at📍Cold Creek Conservation Area led by third-generation beekeeper André Flys on Sunday, Jun. 28 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Get ready to open a hive and explore a real colony of bees up close. You’ll learn how to identify the queen, brood, larvae, nectar, pollen, propolis, and the different types of bees that keep the hive thriving. 
 
Discover how bees forage for food and water, and which plants are essential to them throughout the seasons. We’ll also dive into the fascinating world of native pollinators, how they compare to European honeybees, and the environmental challenges they face today. Cost: $20 per person.

Each June, communities across Ontario celebrate June is Recreation and Parks Month🌞. Organized by , is recognized by municipalities, community organizations, and schools as a way of promoting the benefits recreation and parks have on physical, social and environmental health.   
  
This year’s theme focuses on the importance of spaces where people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can connect, grow and thrive.  
  
Join for 30 action packed days of recreational activities for all ages at community centres and parks.

🏊 NEW! Swim lessons that fit your child’s summer camp schedule.

King Township is offering two-week summer swim lessons designed with busy families in mind—perfect for campers at the Zancor Centre. Lessons run Monday to Thursday from June 29 to September 3, with group and private options available.

Camp staff will es**rt children to and from their lessons during the camp day, making it easier for parents without extra drop-offs or pick-ups.

Having a pet is rewarding, but it comes with responsibilities. As you enjoy summer strolls, help keep your pet safe and clean. 🐾☀️ 

Reminders: 

🗑️ Stoop and scoop: Clean up after your pet – it’s the law. The fine for not picking up after your pet is $200. Look for dog waste bags at select locations along King’s 100 km of trails and dog parks. 

🐕 Leash up: All dogs must be on a leash when not on their owner’s property, except in designated off-leash areas. The fine for having a dog off-leash is $360.  

🐈 Licence your pet: Pets must be licensed (and renewed annually) through Vaughan Animal Services, and they must wear their tag at all times to ensure a quick return home.
