Please find attached a poster for the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the Annapolis Valley and District Labour Council, taking place on June 22, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at 362 Main Street, Kentville, or virtually via Zoom.

All officer positions are up for election. If you are interested in putting your name forward and would like more information about the responsibilities of a position, or if you are unable to attend the meeting in person or virtually but still wish to run, please contact Leslie at [email protected].

At a time when libraries and other vital public services are facing significant cuts, and when there is an ongoing refusal to meet legal obligations to bargain collectively, it is more important than ever to come together in support of our communities, public institutions, and workers’ rights.

If you belong to an affiliated union, I encourage you to join the Annapolis Valley and District Labour Council and take part in this important work.

The 2026 Apple Blossom Grand Street Parade is fast approaching.

Join the Annapolis Valley Labour Council on Saturday, May 30th and walk in strength and solidarity with unions across Nova Scotia. Unions are currently under attack from both our federal and provincial governments as well as the private sector.

Nova Scotia CUPE long-term care workers have been on strike since April 13 to protest poverty-level wages and chronic under-staffing. These essential healthcare workers deserve respect, safe working conditions, and a fair deal

Prime Minister Mark Carney's comprehensive expenditure review has left many Nova Scotia federal unionized workers facing job cuts and uncertainty.

An attack on one union is an attack on all. Bring your families, friends, flags, and signs and walk in resolute solidarity.
