If you’ve driven past the Apple Bowl lately, you may have noticed something different. Crews have been hard at work transforming the stadium as Kelowna prepares for a major summer moment. This June and July, the Apple Bowl will host two Canadian Football League games, with the BC Lions taking on the Calgary Stampeders on June 27 and the Edmonton Elks on July 4 as part of Touchdown Kelowna. Learn more about the 9 day Touchdown Kelowna Festival at kelowna.ca/touchdown.

To make it happen, the site is being carefully reimagined. Rows of temporary seating are being installed to expand capacity to about 17,000 seats, while crews work across the stadium to prepare the field, adjust infrastructure and create a game-day experience unlike anything typically seen here.

It’s a coordinated effort, with multiple teams working together through changing conditions, always keeping safety front of mind.

While these changes are temporary, they’re helping create something lasting, a shared experience that brings residents, visitors and football fans together for a summer of sport, entertainment and community connection in Kelowna.

Heads up, Kelowna! 📍

Starting June 8, Cassiar Park will be closed until mid-September for irrigation upgrades and new grass.

Investing in new grass helps keep parks looking vibrant and feeling welcoming. It supports a cleaner, greener place where residents can relax, play and come together in a natural setting.

Parks are where neighbours meet, families play and community happens. The intention of these spaces is to create an inviting environment that fosters a sense of belonging.
