During a recent Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) deployment in Kelowna, officers uncovered an aftermarket hidden compartment used to conceal suspected drugs and cash.
Seized:
🔹 Suspected fentanyl, co***ne & methamphetamine
🔹 Multiple cell phones
🔹 Drugs packaged for street-level distribution
🔹 Over $10,000.00 CAD
Multiple arrests were made for possession for the purpose of trafficking. Hidden compartments are built to avoid detection. officers are trained to find them.

The Kelowna RCMP will continue to have a larger presence across the city this weekend with several events like Ribfest in City Park and the final BC Lions game at the Apple Bowl. This large presence will stretch into other neighbourhoods from Rutland to the North End to the Mission and all points in between.

We know it’s going to be busy at the BC Lions games and around the concerts at Waterfront Park for Touchdown Kelowna. Residents can expect to see an increased police presence throughout the City of Kelowna during these events and are hoping not to throw a penalty flag. It’s going to be busy on the roadways so be patient and try to avoid the areas with your vehicle if possible.

Summer temperatures and dry conditions have been here for a while, and the threat of wildfire is evident. The RCMP remind drivers to take care of their cigarette butts, don’t throw them out the window! A simple butt can easily lead to a fire event in our dry conditions. Under the Wildfire Act, you can be fined thousands of dollars if a discarded butt ignites a wildfire.

Drive smart and be responsible for your own butt.

Bags no larger than 12” x 12” x 6” are permitted but will still be subject to search prior to entering the facility.

Know before you go

The Kelowna RCMP is cheering on the BC Lions at the Apple Bowl and are reminding fans to pack their patience and leave your vehicles at home. With over 15,000 spectators expected to attend each of the two games parking and the roads around the stadium are going to be packed with people. If you don’t have tickets to the games, please stay out of the area if possible.

Blue 42, red 7, set, hut, hut! The Kelowna RCMP is getting ready for the BC Lions games to take over the Apple Bowl for the next two Saturday’s and the history making Touchdown Kelowna event schedule! Its going to be extremely busy around the Apple Bowl during the games with pedestrians, scooters, bikes and vehicle traffic. Fans are encouraged to walk to the games and motorists are asked to use alternative routes of travel instead of using Bernard Avenue, Burtch Street and Spall Road around the Apple Bowl.

You’ll meet with the Recruiting team from the Southeast District 9-1-1 Police Dispatch Centre, and ask them questions about this vital role.
