We wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to Mary Jo Connell for the incredible work she did to make St. Luke’s look so spectacular for the New Year’s Eve Mass. The atmosphere you created was truly meaningful and provided a perfect setting to close out a significant year for our community.

The candlelight added such a beautiful touch as we honoured the legacy of the Peter Robinson settlers. Your dedication and attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and it made the evening unforgettable for all of us who gathered to begin 2026 together.

Join us this New Year’s Eve for a candlelit Mass as we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Peter Robinson immigration and give thanks for the faith and courage of those who helped build our parish community. The Mass will be celebrated by Rev Daniel Miehm, Bishop of Peterborough, Fr. Tom Lynch, and Fr. Israel on December 31 at 5:00 pm.

All are warmly welcome to attend as we finish the year in prayer, gratitude, and hope - and begin the New Year together in faith.

What a year...and it's not over yet. Molly Malone has continued her feverish publishing since December 2024 when she opened Volume 1 with "What's all the fuss about"?

Here we are one year later and the Downeyville Times distribution has grown steadily and internationally, from Downeyville to Ireland and beyond, reaching many Irish descendants and everyone who is "of Downeyville".

Molly hopes that you enjoy this latest edition and while it will be the FINAL monthly commemorative newsletter of the year, you can look forward to a re-cap of 2025 in January.
