BC Hydro’s critical infrastructure repairs on 1st Avenue (between Seymour Street and Victoria Street) are wrapping up ahead of schedule.

The corridor has now reopened, and access to City Hall and the surrounding areas will be restored by the end of the day today (June 16, 2026). 🙌

First Nations, Inuit, and Metis communities each have distinct traditions, languages, and histories that continue to shape and enrich this country. Here in Kamloops, we are fortunate to be surrounded by the living culture of the Secwépemc Nation.

Mark your calendars as the Kamloopa Powwow is coming June 26 to 28 and is open to the public. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience First Nations culture firsthand, enjoy traditional food, and support Indigenous businesses and artisans.
