As the Clinton May Ball Rodeo & Dance weekend gets closer, we’re closing out our week of rodeo memories with one more photo from rodeo days in Clinton.

WPCIB is proud to be the title sponsor of this year’s rodeo as it marks its 75th year. This is a meaningful role for the Pelltíq’t People, “People of the White Earth Place,” whose families have been connected to horses, ranching, gathering, and life in the Clinton area for generations.

This photo appears to show wagon racing at the Clinton Rodeo, capturing the speed, teamwork, timing, and horsemanship that have long been part of rodeo life.

Kukwstép-kuc to everyone who shared photos and helped carry these memories forward. If this photo brings back a name, a story, or a memory, please share it in the comments.

We’re excited to share our WPCIB Young Guardians 2025 video and invite members, families, community partners, and our wider network to watch and share.

The video highlights an opportunity for WPCIB youth to spend time on the land, connect with Elders and Knowledge Carriers, and take part in hands-on stewardship near the Village of Clinton. This work reflects Yucwmínte re Tmicw, “We take care of the Land,” and the partnerships helping support more land-based learning for youth.

Applications are open for WPCIB members ages 15–25 until Friday, May 29, 2026. Please submit your cover letter and resume to Lisseth Jaruchik, Receptionist, at [email protected].

With the Clinton May Ball Rodeo & Dance weekend coming up, WPCIB is proud to be the title sponsor of this year’s rodeo as it marks its 75th year! We’re sharing another look at ranching and rodeo life connected to WPCIB families.

WPCIB are known as the Pelltíq’t People, meaning “People of the White Earth Place,” with family histories and roots connected to the Clinton area for generations. These photos speak to that presence through horses, bulls, ranching, rodeo days, and the people who helped shape local life. They include Stephanie LeBourdais, Joe LeBourdais, Duke LeBourdais, Ed LeBourdais, and other community members.

If these photos bring back a name, a story, or a memory, please share it in the comments.

With the Clinton May Ball Rodeo & Dance marking its 75th year, we’re looking back at the family histories and shared memories WPCIB families have carried in and around Clinton for generations.

Rodeo days were part of a larger way of life connected to horses, ranching, gathering, and showing up for one another. These photos reflect a long history of WPCIB families being part of the people, places, and events that shaped local life.

This is the first of a few posts we’ll be sharing. If you recognize someone, remember these rodeo days, or have a memory connected to the photos, please share in the comments.
