June 1st to the 5th is National ATV Safety Week. Here is another reminder of some of the rules surrounding ATV use within Kahnawake.

***TRAFFIC UPDATE***

The Rte. 207 down ramp from the Bridge bound Rte. 138 will be closed to all traffic today. As well; Veterans Blvd. Acces from under the bridge into the community from the 138 to 132 east service road will also be closed.

The Peacekeepers are asking all local residents to take alternate routes today as patrols will be mitigating traffic during the weekend bridge shutdown.

Reminder: The bus lane is closed for emergency vehicles only.

Today marks Isabelle Nicholas’ last day with the Kahnawake Mohawk Peacekeepers. She is retiring after serving our community for 21 years. Isabelle began her career with the Peacekeepers in 2005 after transferring from Kanesatake. In 2023, Isabelle originated the role of Domestic Violence Resource Officer, where she provided critical resources and support to victims of domestic violence. We wish our sister Izzy success in her future endeavours, and thank her for her tireless service to Kahnawake.

We welcome Peacekeeper Rebecca Day back to the organization. Rebecca previously worked with us as part of our maintenance staff before becoming a Peacekeeper. She graduated from the RCMP Training Academy on May 11th. Congratulations and welcome back!
