Thank you David for all you have accomplished! Continue success as the MLA!
Today I announced that I will be stepping down as Leader of the Green Party of New Brunswick in the coming months once a contest is held to elect a new leader. And I will continue to serve the people of Fredericton Lincoln in the Legislature.
It has been an honour to serve the people of New Brunswick, and my party in my capacity as a political leader in our province. It’s time for a new leader before the next election. I want to make sure they have close to two years to prepare the Party for its next electoral breakthrough.
I couldn’t have achieved anything without the support of so many dedicated members, donors, volunteers, staff and those who stepped up to serve on our Provincial Council. And of course my Deputy Leader Megan Mitton and Kevin Arseneau, who was my Acadian lieutenant for six years. I am forever indebted to you and your families in so many ways. Thank you!

J’ai annoncé aujourd’hui que je quitterai mes fonctions de chef du Parti vert du Nouveau-Brunswick dans les mois à venir, une fois qu’une élection aura été organisée pour désigner un nouveau chef ou une nouvelle cheffe. Je continuerai toutefois à représenter les électeurs de Fredericton Lincoln à l’Assemblée législative.
Ce fut un honneur de servir la population du Nouveau-Brunswick et mon parti en tant que chef politique de notre province. Il est temps qu’un nouveau chef prenne la relève avant les prochaines élections. Je tiens à m’assurer qu’il dispose de près de deux ans pour préparer le Parti à sa prochaine percée électorale.
Je n’aurais rien pu accomplir sans le soutien de tant de membres dévoués, de donateurs, de bénévoles, de membres du personnel et de ceux qui se sont portés volontaires pour siéger à notre Conseil provincial. Et bien sûr, ma vice-présidente Megan Mitton et Kevin Arseneau, qui a été mon bras droit acadien pendant six ans. Je vous suis éternellement redevable, à vous et à vos familles, à bien des égards.
