Our social media accounts focus on celebrating the many great things happening in our schools, and sharing important information with our communities. While NLPS encourages interaction from platform users, we expect individuals making comments to show respect for fellow users and ensure discussion remains civil, especially since stu

dents may be viewing the content and comments. Individual comments or posts that do not follow our commenting guidelines may be hidden or deleted without further notice. Repeated disregard for the guidelines may result in the user being blocked from the page. To ensure exchanges that are informative, respectful of diverse viewpoints and lawful, we will not allow comments that are or include:
Off topic. Comments that are abusive, hateful or intended to defame an individual or organization. Complaints, concerns, or confidential information about individual students or employees. Language. Comments including but not limited to: profanity, discriminatory comments, threats, obscenity. Laws that govern use of copyright and trade secrets will be followed. Words that constitute a criminal act or solicit others to commit a criminal act. Links to outside websites. Spam. Comments focused on selling a product of service will be hidden. NLPS is not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to the page. Comments posted also do not in any way reflect the opinions or policies of the division. Users participate at their own risk, taking personal responsibility for comments, username and any information they provide.

Get ready for some fast-paced fun!
Our school will be hosting the third installment of our Glory Days Tournament, tomorrow March 14 from 8am - 6pm! Come check out all the floor hockey action and be sure to stop by the concession, where we will have plenty of tasty food and drinks available. We hope to see lots of families and community members come out to enjoy the festivities!

All Northern Lights Public Schools buses are cancelled for Wednesday, February 18th.

Schools will be OPEN: Regular classes will proceed as scheduled.

Modified Programming: If a significant number of students are absent, teachers may make adjustments to their planned activities.

Reporting Absences: If your child is staying home, please let us know as soon as possible. This ensures all students are accounted for and safe.

All Buses Cancelled - February 17, 2026

All Northern Lights Public Schools buses are cancelled today, Tuesday, February 17th reason, due to inclement weather.

Schools are OPEN: Regular classes will proceed as scheduled.

Modified Programming: If a significant number of students are absent, teachers may make adjustments to their planned activities.

Reporting Absences: If your child is staying home, please let us know as soon as possible. This ensures all students are accounted for and safe.

How to report an absence:

App: School Messenger app

Online: Click on School Messenger in the PowerSchool Parent Portal or go to go.schoolmessenger.ca

Phone: Call your child’s school directly

Note on Attendance Calls: To ensure student safety, our automated system will call parents of any student marked "unexcused." Reporting the absence early helps you avoid receiving an unnecessary automated call.

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to Ducharme Motors Bonnyville, for generously sponsoring our recent Glory Days Basketball Tournament! Your support helped to make this event an incredible experience for our teams, families and community - we truly appreciate your support! We also want to say CONGRATS to The Army on an outstanding performance and well earned victory!

All Classes Cancelled - January 23
Due to the cold temperatures today (Friday, January 23), classes at all NLPS schools have been cancelled. Buses have also been cancelled today. Schools are open, but regular classes will not be held.
If your child will be absent today, please inform your child’s school. You can report an absence using the School Messenger app, at go.schoolmessenger.ca or by calling your child's school directly.
Safety is our top priority and we want to make sure that all of our students who plan to attend arrive safely.
