Jay's Transportation Group Hodgeville is located 20 minutes south of Hwy 1 between Swift Current and Moose Jaw. We have 179 residents and we have a very unique story. We have the greatest Symbol of the Province, the Saskatchewan Flag. It was designed right here in our community by Anthony Drake.
Anthony came to visit from England, in July of this year, where he was invited by the President of the Rough Riders to attend the "Sasky Days" game on July 6th, and was presented with a jersey with his name and #50 on it. The "Green & White" is so proud of the "Green & Yellow" that they passed around the largest Saskatchewan Flag through the audience of over 28,000 fans. It was a very touching moment for Anthony and for the residents of Hodgeville.
The picture is of Premier Scott Moe, 2 residents of Hodgeville and designer, Anthony Drake, at that game.
Many people of Saskatchewan are very proud of our Saskatchewan Flag and what it represents, especially the people of Hodgeville.
Everytime you see the Saskatchewan flag flying, you can now think of our little Village of Hodgeville. This September 22, 2019, will be the 50th Anniversary of the Saskatchewan Flag and our Village has had the privilege of calling ourselves "Home of the Flag" for 50 years!
Some other highlights of our Village is that some residents get together and create "The Night Jesus was Born" each year just before Christmas. It is a display of over a thousand Nativity Scenes, from around the globe. People come from far and wide just to visit this 3 day event.
We also have the largest Meteorite in Saskatchewan and it is located in our Museum, which was the Hodgeville Hospital in the past.
