We are pleased to partner with Paulette Vieira of Black Dog Beach Designs to offer three unique workshops throughout the summer season.

Explore the world of natural dyes! This introductory workshop is perfect for beginners who are curious about natural dyeing and would like to discover the beauty of creating colour from plants.

Participants will create two hand-dyed scarves—one silk and one cotton—while learning about the plants used in natural dyeing and the techniques required to produce rich, lasting colours. This hands-on experience offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with traditional methods, experiment with natural materials, and take home two beautiful, one-of-a-kind creations.

Upcoming NSHN Department Closure – Richards Landing Site

The North Shore Health Network (NSHN) is informing the community of an upcoming temporary closure of the Emergency Department at the Richards Landing Site due to physician shortages.

📍 RICHARDS LANDING SITE:
• Closed from 8:00 am on Saturday, May 9
• Reopening at 8:00 am on Monday, May 11

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1.

During this temporary closure, ambulances will be re-routed to the closest available Emergency Departments:
• NSHN Thessalon Site – 135 Dawson St., Thessalon, ON
• Sault Area Hospital – 750 Great Northern Rd., Sault Ste. Marie, ON
