Happy Pride Month!

While diversity, equity and inclusion is an important topic every day of the year, throughout this month in particular we recognize the diversity of 2SLGBTQI+ communities. We also acknowledge their history, including the challenges they have faced and the progress that has been made.

In honour of this important month, we will be raising the Pride Flag at the Administrative Building.

With projected revenues of $19,290,032 — including $16.4 million from taxation and nearly $2.9 million from non-tax sources — the Municipality has presented a balanced and forward-thinking budget that maintains essential services for residents across the district.

Despite continued cost pressures facing municipalities across Nova Scotia, Council has remained focused on delivering high-quality services while maintaining long-term fiscal responsibility. Key highlights of the 2026–2027 budget include:

* Protective Services ($4.45 million): Continued investment in fire protection, emergency measures, and building inspections to keep residents and communities safe.
* Fiscal Services & Reserves ($6.59 million): Responsible transfers to reserves and long-term funds, ensuring the Municipality's financial health for years to come.
