Our club was saddened to learn of the passing of one of our members, Mike McDuff. Mike contributed to Rotary in countless ways over the years. He looked after the hot dog orders for Camp Amy Molson for many years, organized the parking lot set-up for Oktoberfest, sold countless hams for our fundraising efforts, and was always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Mike worked hard serving as our president in1998-99. In his quiet generous manner, his dedication to our club never went unnoticed. In recognition of this dedication, he received a Paul Harris Fellowship, the highest honour our club can award.

On behalf of our Rotary family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Dawn, Ryan, Kelly, Brody, Don, and the entire McDuff family during this difficult time.

Our club mourns the passing of Barney Bangs, a former member and past club president. Native of Hawkesbury. Barney was a successful local businessmen and well-known for his philanthropy. We extend our sympathies to his family and his wide circle of friends.

Hawkesbury Rotary recently donated to the Vankleek Hill museum to help support their continued operation. Seen here are Debbie Hall and Sophie Lauzon along with the uniform of Ian Oswald, part of their new military display.
Just a reminder that their Living Speaker Series resumes next week August 11, 2026 at 7 pm, featuring Debbie Hall and Guest speaking on Orphan Children from the 1800's to mid 1900's, who arrived in the area, and descendants still call home. August 18th is Jimmy Mullin. A People Ready to stand, Life, Loyalty and Militia in Prescott Russell. August 25 is the rescheduled Bill Byers, Carving Community Out Of The Wilderness, The first 50 Years in this Neck Of the Woods!

Last Tuesday Hawkesbury Rotary were back up at Camp Amy Molson bbqing hotdogs for over 120 hungry campers. Despite the rain we kept our buns dry😉

Hawkesbury celebrated our change of President, the "passing of the gavel" on Tuesday at the Café du Canal in Grenville. The club thanked past President, Walter Casper, for his two years of service and welcomed incoming President, Kevin Barron. July is only one week old and Hawkesbury Rotary has been busy. We were at Camp Amy Molson preparing hotdogs for over 130 campers. We also grilled hotdogs for the two day HGH foundation golf tournament.

Hawkesbury Rotary welcomed this year's recipients of the Assaly bursaries for exemplary community service. Also present were proud parents and Cory Assaly, son of Wilfred and Margaret Assaly, for whom these bursaries were named.
Emmanuella Longdon and Matthew Steele shared the VCI bursary, Mary Fader from Le Sommet and Lyliane Martin from ESCRH, Congratulations to these outstanding students and best wishes in what prominses to be bright futures.

Last Tuesday we were visited by Francois Bougie (Akela) and Dominique Nixon (Baloo), leaders of the local Scout troop who gave us an update on the past year's activities. We were happy to renew our pledge of support for another year of scouting.
