🔥🌿 Help us keep our Fire Department ready when it matters most

Our Fire Chief is asking for your help when it comes to reporting small brush fires in our community.

If you spot a small brush fire during regular office hours, and it is not putting people or buildings at risk, please contact the Town Office to report it instead of calling 911.

📞Town Office Mon-Fri 9am-4pm 506-375-4357
📞 For evenings and weekends, contact the Fire Chief directly at 506-375-4000

🚒 Calling 911 for non-emergencies sends out our full Fire Department response, including trucks and firefighters. That response is important when there is real danger, but it also comes with a cost to the community when it is not needed.

We all play a part in looking out for one another, and this small step helps make sure our emergency services are available when they are truly needed. 🙌

If you ever feel a fire is unsafe or spreading, always call 911 right away.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe 💛

🚒 Training Night at Hartland Agromart 🚒

Members of the Hartland Fire Department had the opportunity to visit the new Hartland Agromart location for a training session this week. Crews were given a tour of the property to better familiarize ourselves with the layout, access points, and any potential hazards—an important step in ensuring we’re prepared to respond quickly and safely if ever needed.

Following the tour, we set up Ladder 9 and practiced an emergency scenario, focusing on aerial operations and positioning in a real-world environment.

We’d like to extend a big thank you to Hartland Agromart for welcoming us and supporting our ongoing training. Partnerships like this help us stay prepared and keep our community safe.

This week’s training focused on fire behaviour 🔥

Members had the opportunity to observe how fire develops, spreads, and reacts in a controlled environment using a constructed burn prop. This hands-on training helps build a better understanding of fire dynamics, heat movement, and smoke conditions—critical knowledge for making safe and effective decisions on the fireground.

Training like this ensures our team stays prepared and ready to serve our community.

🚒 Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make it a successful night!

Train Like It’s Real 🚒🔥

Today we took training to the next level with a controlled structure burn.

Crews practiced:
✔️ Ventilation
✔️ 2nd floor bail-outs
✔️ Advancing hose lines
✔️ Interior search & fire attack
✔️ Pump operations
✔️ Water shuttle coordination

There’s no substitute for hands-on, live-fire training. Days like this build confidence, teamwork, and the skills needed when seconds count.

Proud of the hard work and dedication shown by all members today.
