25 Years ago today, the world was stopped in its tracks, We remember the thousands of innocent people who never made it home, and we honour the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, 8 paramedics and many other first responders who answered the call and put themselves in harm’s way to help others.

Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to serving and answering the almighty call will never be forgotten.

When you think of your local fire department, firefighting may be the first thing that comes to mind. But today’s volunteer firefighters are trained to respond to so much more.

Our members dedicate countless hours learning and training to build the skills needed to assist our residents when they need us most. Our department takes pride that we have Advanced First Aid, RN, EMR and ACP level medical responders that are ready to assist until paramedics arrive.

We remind residents that if you require assistance in an emergency, AFTER you call 911 to request an ambulance, you can call 709-229-5555 to our local dispatch number and follow the prompts to leave your name, phone number , location/address and type of emergency to request a response from our department. This helps our department receive your emergency as soon as possible to assist with a quick response while waiting for an ambulance to arrive.

Stay Safe Everyone!
