Hamilton Child and Family Supports

Hamilton Child and Family Supports The Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton has been serving children and families in the Hamilton community since 1894.

In partnership with families and our community, we’re committed to the safety, protection, and well-being of children and the strengthening of families, while valuing diversity and promoting equity. It is a not-for-profit organization that, by law, is required to protect children from physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect. The agency also helps to build healthy families and provides saf

e, nurturing environments for youngsters that cannot live at home both on a temporary and permanent basis. The Society is funded by the Ontario government to provide child protection services to its designated community, according to Ontario’s Child and Family Services Act [CFSA s. 72(1)].

June is National Indigenous History Month 🧡

At HCFS, we take this time to recognize and honour the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

National Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to reflect, learn, and deepen our understanding of the truths of Canada’s past and present, while reaffirming our commitment to walking the path of reconciliation with respect and humility.

We are committed to listening, learning, and supporting Indigenous children, youth, families, and communities in meaningful and culturally respectful ways.

HCFS joined the Hamilton Black Health Community Leaders' Forum event Celebrating Africa Day. It was a day filled with the celebration of African countries' various cultures, identities, dressing, dances, food and music.

Our Executive Director, Bryan, had an opportunity to share a few words and appealed to the African Diaspora to work with us to create a safe village for children and youth in the Hamilton community.

HCFS will continue to be visible in the community as we seek opportunities for partnership and collaboration with diverse communities so that we are able to provide services and support that is culturally appropriate and sustainable!

We are incredibly grateful to the Ancaster Quilters’ Guild for their generous donation of beautiful handmade quilts. Each one is a true work of art and represents the time, care, and compassion poured into every stitch.

Your kindness will bring comfort and warmth to children who need it the most.

Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in our community. 💙

Happy Children and Youth in Care Day!

This day is an opportunity to recognize the valuable contributions of current and former youth in care to communities across Ontario. It is also a time to acknowledge the strength and resilience shown by these young people in the face of adversity.

Celebrating the little wins in the lives of children and youth in and from care is more than just a moment of joy – it’s a powerful reminder that every step forward, no matter how small, counts. The matter.
