Veterans’ Week is a time to honour the courage, service, and sacrifice of all who have served in the Canadian Armed Forces, past and present. In the days leading up to Remembrance Day, we wear a poppy as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance.
The red poppy represents the lives lost in war and the hope for peace — inspired by the fields of poppies that grew after the battles of the First World War. Wearing it reminds us to pause, reflect, and ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten.
