Westfield Heritage Village Conservation Area is both a living history museum and a conservation area. The buildings are nestled against the backdrop of 204 hectares of conservation land that features woodlands, meadows and trails. Visitors may enjoy hikes and walks 7 days a week. Throughout the year there are opportunities to see our volunteer interpreters provide demonstration and guided tours. C

September 6 & Labour Day, September 7 | Favourite Stories in Film 🎬

Did you know Westfield has been the scene for some of our favourite episodes of Anne of Green Gables, Anne with an E, and Murdoch Mysteries? Join our Tour Guide, long-time volunteer Storekeeper David, as he takes visitors to the locations where these shows were filmed. Photographs will be in place throughout the site to illustrate the scenes filmed at Westfield.

Tours begin at 1 PM, 2 PM, and 3 PM.

🍂 This month, step back in time with programs that explore stories in film, the trades of the village, Westfield’s forest and the birds that call the area home.

Plus, every Sunday at 2 PM, join Westfield volunteer Rope Loft for a 30-minute guided walk offering an Indigenous perspective on the trails and surrounding landscape.

The gardens at Westfield are still full of colour! The flowers throughout the village are putting on quite a show, and we even spotted a Giant Swallowtail stopping by for a visit! 🦋

Westfield volunteer Ian Bell brought out his squeeze box while our local country dancers showed us how it’s done. Visitors joined in for a reel or simply enjoyed the music and fun!

Sunday, August 30 | Fall Fairs 🎪

Fall Fairs are a big part of the harvest celebrations in local communities around Westfield. We’re setting up our own mini version. Visit the exhibit hall and join in the judging. Participate in our hobby horse show. Play some carnival games and enjoy free popcorn. See you at the fair!

Kids can also create a pine cone animal to take home.

Travel back to discover how people stayed healthy over 100 years ago.

Meet the travelling doctor, compare historic medicine with today's Drug Store, and join in some period exercises on the Village Green.

In this role, you’ll lead interactive educational programs for visiting students, helping them explore what daily life was like in the 19th and early 20th centuries through hands-on activities and experiences.

🎨 to Colour Your World, one of the many fun and engaging Sundays at Westfield Heritage Village!

Visitors enjoyed:
• A painting lesson on the village green
• Exploring natural pigments, paints, and fibre dyeing at the Marr Spinning and Weaving Shop
• An art lesson with the schoolteacher in the historic schoolhouse
• Showcasing the incredible artistic talents of our volunteers

Every Sunday at Westfield Heritage Village offers something new to discover, with unique themes, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive experiences that bring history to life.

Sunday, August 16 | Music & Dance 🎶

Tap your toes and join the fun!

Listen to live music from volunteer Ian Bell, watch or join traditional country dancing at the Bandstand, then cool off with treats from the General Store.

Families can also create a paper chain of dancers.
