McMaster Student Midwifery Collective - MSMC The McMaster Midwifery Student Collective (MSMC) strives to support and represent the voices of all midwifery students at McMaster University.

The McMaster Student Midwifery Collective (MSMC) is a group of midwifery students with varying roles who work collaboratively to support the interests and needs of students in the Midwifery Education Program (MEP). Hi everyone, my name is Yalina !! I am a 1st year direct entry student from high school who cannot imagine doing anything else. I am originally from Oakville, and commute to campus for my classes. Outside of my academic life, I am an ice cream and chocolate fanatic, love travelling, and spending time with my family and friends. Hello all! My name is Bailey and I’m from Thunder Bay ON! I graduated with a degree in Health Sciences at UOttawa this past spring and am so excited to be continuing my journey here at McMaster!! 🌟💘🐣Midwifery Student Monday!! 🌸🍼💛

Hey! My name is Azlan and I’m a first year midwifery student from Cambridge, Ontario. I came to the program straight from high school because I’ve known for a long time that midwifery was for me! Outside of school, I love to spend my time hiking, running, playing the piano, and cross-stitching 👵. My favourite aspect of the midwifery program is how tight knit the community is. I feel like I have known my peers for so long and I’m glad I’ve gotten the opportunity to form connections so early on. I also love the anatomy and social justice courses because I’m interested in both the medical and advocacy parts of midwifery. I can’t wait to continue on this journey and learn much more through the MEP!

👶🩵🌟 MIDWIFERY STUDENT MONDAY 😇🌠🍼

Hi! My name is Kate! Before entering the MEP I spent a year at Trent University studying biology! Even though I don’t have a lot of prior university experience, I’m very grateful to have had a year of experience under my belt (especially having my electives completed) before coming to Mac! When I’m not at school you’ll probably find me crocheting, spending time with friends, getting ice cream, or rewatching my favourite movies. In the summer I live for summer camp, I’m always talking about or actively working at my camp, and I consider it my summer home! I’m so grateful for the community the MEP has created, and cannot wait for what the future has to offer!

💛🍼🌻MIDWIFERY STUDENT MONDAY!! 🐣✨👶

Hi! My name is Prairie! Im from a little island in BC, so I spend my summers at the beach, enjoying sunsets, spending time with friends/family and working (a lot) as a barista and cook. When I’m not busy with school, I enjoy spending my time snowboarding, playing rugby, cooking and traveling (last year I took a gap year and visited 7 countries!) I have always been obsessed with babies and have known from a young age that I wanted to work in women’s health. I’m so grateful for the MEP community and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

❄️🐥🩷 MIDWIFERY STUDENT MONDAY!! 🍼🌸🌟

Hey everyone! My name is Samara. I’m a 1st year midwifery student. I’m originally from BC (west coast is the best coast)⛰️🌊. Before coming to Ontario for school, I lived on Vancouver Island where I did my doula certification. Outside of being a midwife in training I spend my time outside, reading, rollerskating and training for the tough mudder💪I’m new to the Ontario area so if anyone has any wisdom on the good hikes share it my way pls!🌸

🐣🤍Midwifery Student Monday! 🍼💫

Hello! My name is Nagham, and I am a 1st year midwifery student! I graduated from UoFT in 2025 with a Major in Anthropology, and double minor in Forensic Science and Biology. Although my first degree is very different, I believe it gave me the perfect background to get to where I am today! Few things about me; I am Palestinian-Jordanian, and I currently live in Hamilton, ON.. Outside of school, I work at a pharmacy, enjoy the gym, paint, dance, and paddle boarding in the summer. I also love traveling and exploring new cultures and places! I’m currently learning Spanish and Portuguese, so feel free to test me if you know either 😉 I cannot wait to step into this role and keep learning more about Women’s health because we are our best advocates! I’m excited to see what else the MEP exposes us to🥰
