This afternoon, I joined HamSMART, the Hamilton Encampment Support Network, and others for a rally as a part of the Provincial Day of Action in support of Safe Consumption Sites.

As the previous Executive Director of the Disability Justice Network of Ontario (DJNO) I advocated for safe consumption sites, supportive housing, and participated in many mutual aid projects in support of harm reduction. As your MPP, I was very vocal against the closure of CTS sites across Ontario.

Harm reduction saves lives. When re-elected I'll continue to fight to protect publicly funded healthcare, for supportive housing investments, and for investments into harm reduction supports as well as the reopening of our CTS sites.

Really grateful for the support of labour across a multitude of sectors who have not only endorsed this campaign but have shown up time and time again for workers across this province.

Today, we had members from: the United Steelworkers, the Hamilton and District Labour Council, the Ontario Public Sector Services Employees, the Ontario Secondary Teachers’ Federation, Unifor, the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario and the Canadian Union of Public Employees come out to help us knock doors and remind folks that today is the last day of early voting.

We had such a busy day yesterday! Multiple groups of canvassers spoke to voters across Hamilton Centre about advanced voting. 💜💛

Members of the Jewish community also hosted a Shabbat dinner in our office and spoke with me about their experiences in Hamilton over the last year and a half combating anti-Palestinian racism.
