The Anchor Archive Zine Library is dedicated to providing free or affordable access to independent and alternative media, art, and education. It is a space for people to come together to share skills, knowledge, and resources. We support critical, creative projects and inspire social change through DIY (do it yourself), non-hierarchical, and consensus-based approaches. We aim to be active in our c

ommunities by collaborating with other groups and projects. We strive to be inclusive, aware of barriers and discrimination, and welcoming to all ages. The People's Photocopier Collective is dedicated to keeping the cost of copies low and providing an alternative to corporate copy shops. Corporate media and publishing continue to concentrate and streamline the power of communication. As amateurs, non-professionals, artists, writers and activists of all kinds, we need to collectively fight for the ability to self-publish our zines and posters, to promote our events, to spread our word.

The Anchor Archive’s 20th birthday party was a zine love dream come true! Zine-makers and zine library members of all ages and from all generations of the project’s life came together to share their zines, reminisce, connect, and reconnect. One highlight was a video conversation between the founders Sarah and Son, as well as a chocolate cake and a gluten-free carrot cake! In true Anchor Archive tradition we did not take many pictures. As Zoe said, “I was living in the moment.”
