The Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia is hosting a Senior Services Information Fair! The event is on Thursday October 15, from 1:00–4:00 p.m., and is held at the ISANS Mumford Office.

The fair will connect seniors and caregivers, especially newcomers, with community and government services, programs, benefits, and resources. Interpreters in several languages will also be available to support communication.

The deadline to submit a nomination for the Promising Practices Showcase, Presented by Shannex, has been EXTENDED! The Showcase allows the sector to learn directly from Maritime peers working in dementia care. It could be a new program, care approach, or tool that has improved the lives of people living with dementia.

For people affected by dementia, connection can make a huge difference. Having somewhere to ask questions, meet others who understand, and learn about available support can help people feel less isolated and more connected to their community.

That is the idea behind Connection Matters, an afternoon of learning, conversation and community taking place in New Waterford this September.

The event will bring together people living with dementia, family members and care partners, community members, and local service providers and organizations that support people living with dementia throughout Cape Breton.
