Exciting news! The 10 newcomer pharmacists that we're supporting as part of a pilot project will be arriving in Halifax soon!

We can't wait to welcome them to Canada. To help them settle into their new homes, we're looking for donations of gently used or new furniture and household items. If you are able to donate, please email [email protected] with photos and measurements. We are hoping to pick up donated items on January 31/February 1 but please let us know ASAP if you are donating to help us with planning. Thank you!

Most-needed items (new or gently used):
Bed frames (double or queen)
- New mattresses
- Chests of drawers
- Night tables
- Sofas and armchairs
- Coffee tables
- Kitchen tables and chairs
- Desks
- Smart TVs
- TV stands
- Baby cribs and new crib mattresses
- Car seats for 1-2 year-olds (must not be expired or have been in an accident)
- Lightweight strollers
- Toy storage or small bookcases

Please consider sharing this fundraiser below for Kate, a member of Open Harbour. Kate was in a pedestrian and large vehicle collision, and is in the ICU with a long road ahead with many unknowns. We are sharing this fundraiser with her husband’s blessing.

This fundraiser is intended to provide them with financial breathing room during her recovery. They built a life around simple joys, were married this past April, and hadn’t had the chance to take their honeymoon yet. Thank you to the community for the outpouring of prayers and thoughts you have sent for her.

Once upon a time in the Land of Zeffy, a local volunteer group called Open Harbour Refugee Association held an auction. With the auction ending tonight, Open Harbour could just imagine the winners feeling joyful that they had bought something nice and supported a very good cause.

Just imagine being curled up on that Tabrizi rug, adorned in your new scarf and headband, feeling cozy by that fabulous little stove, reading The Spirit of Summerwood, admiring Larry Thompson's art, dreaming about attending Live Art Dance, and nibbling on delicious food from local restaurants that you bought with those gift cards.

This happiness is attainable, but only if you place your bids before midnight, TONIGHT!
