2025 year in review.
Reynolds Fire was called out 68 times this year. This number does not reflect calls for Ground search and rescue or helping other agencies during the wildfires.
We had members attend training for Wildland Firefighting, Ground search and rescue , Pump operations and Surface water rescue.
We recieved donations and several grants to enable us to purchase specialized rescue equipment.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and donations but especially our municipal Staff, members of council and our families. It’s not an easy life being on call 24/7 365. Dropping whatever you are doing to help total strangers at times.
2026 looks to be an exciting year for us and possibly with some big announcements. Stay tuned.
Happy new year to all from the Reynolds Fire Department.

Condolences to our brothers and sisters, family and friends and the entire community.

Last weekend five members from Reynolds Fire Department joined 7 members of SEWFD for Pump Ops Basic training at the South East Whiteshell Fire Department. Members learned about characteristic of water, how various pumps operate, friction loss and volume calculations, equipment positioning and how to pump from pressurized and static water sources. After several hours of engaging classroom work, members got hands on training on 2 different pumpers, making loss calculations, delivering water to firefighters at the proper pressure and volume, and switching from pressurized to static water sources.

Thank you to the five members for attending this valuable training.

Thank you to our instructors, Troy and Dave for sharing your knowledge and vast experience with the class.

We'd also would like to thank South East Whiteshell Fire Department for hosting the course. Training with our closest mutual aid partners is as important as the training itself. We learned how different our equipment is and how we can adapt it to work better together. Working together over a weekend also helps us build trust in the abilities of eachother's members. We look forward to working with you again.

On Sunday, Aug. 24 in the town of Rennie, the Manitoba RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit, in partnership with the Reynolds Volunteer Fire Department, conducted a controlled burn of a vacant house containing old dynamite.

This extremely rare disposal process is executed when the dynamite is very old and potentially volatile if moved. Reminder: If you ever come across any blasting equipment or suspected explosive ordinance, DO NOT attempt to move it and call your local police right away!

08/24/2025

We will be conducting a controlled burn in Rennie today from 10 am until 4pm. Please keep clear of the area as we will be shuttling water to keep the fire controlled.

Routine call on the Trans Canada Highway. Had just checked on those involved and was about to set up traffic cones and signs. It seems people are in a hurry to get places as my safety was certainly not on their radar. Please slow down and give us room.
